Forms should be returned by email to [email protected].

Please visit our Service Update page for the latest guidance on our processing times for pupillage registration and completion forms.

Provisional Practising Certificates and Confirmation of Full Qualification Letters will be issued, via email, as soon as possible and will be backdated where appropriate.

We aim to issue any provisional practising certificates in advance of the starting date of your practising period of pupillage.

If you are still waiting to hear from us on or after your practising period start date, please contact us via email to [email protected].

If you have sent in a Notification of Material Change form, this will be processed; however, pupillage sign off and registration processes will be prioritised over these forms. Your patience is appreciated until we are able to send email confirmations that these material changes have been recorded.

Pupillage Registration Form

Pupillage Registration Form

This is the form to register a pupillage with us. The form includes sections to be completed by you (as the prospective pupil) and your pupillage provider.

Please ensure all registration forms include a handwritten signature from the relevant pupil supervisor. Alternatively, forms can be sent in by the pupillage provider (Chambers or other AETO) directly to confirm an electronic signature.

PLEASE NOTE that you may commence pupillage pending receipt of confirmation of registration from us. Due to current processing times, this may be up to four weeks after you submit your form. Please refrain from contacting us to follow-up on your registration form unless you have not heard from us after four weeks, following the submission of your form.

Non-Practising Pupillage Completion Form

Non-Practising Pupillage Completion Form

This is the form which must be completed at the end of your non-practising period of pupillage. The form should be signed by your pupil supervisor. A Provisional Practising Certificate will not be issued to you until we have received a signed version of this form.

You must submit a copy of this form to us at the end of your non-practising period of pupillage (first six months), even if your second six months of pupillage will also be non-practising (typically, this is the case for pupillages in Chancery or tax law).

Please ensure all completion forms include a handwritten signature from the relevant pupil supervisor. Alternatively, forms can be sent in by the pupillage provider (Chambers or other AETO) directly to confirm an electronic signature.

Practising Pupillage Completion Form

Practising Pupillage Completion Form

This is the form which must be completed at the end of your practising period of pupillage. The form should be signed by your pupil supervisor. You will not be able to apply for your full Practising Certificate until we have received a signed version of this form.

Please ensure all completion forms include a handwritten signature from the relevant pupil supervisor. Alternatively, forms can be sent in by the pupillage provider (Chambers or other AETO) directly to confirm an electronic signature.

Notification of Material Change (Pupillage) Form

Notification of a Material Change Form

This is the form to notify us of material changes to your pupillage arrangements. These include a change of home or pupillage address, a change in pupil supervisor, a change in the date of commencement and/or proposed end date of pupillage, or a change in location due to a pupillage secondment. Please contact us if you are unsure whether other changes are material.
